Anti-Yaoi is not Anti-Gay. Deal with it, bitches. Real gay people are not like your SUPAH KAWAII fantasy. Some of us don't mind real life gays. Some of us support LGBT. Heck, some of us are GAY. So shut the fuck up and stop calling us homophobes.
in real life, you are hetero/gay/lesbian, and you will be with the gender you love
yaoi/yuri/hetero, they take hetero characters/gay/lesbian and ship them what a character of the same gender or the other gender, if the character is hetero (so he like girls) they will ship him/her with another boy/girl, but it's ooc because they are not gay/lesbian, same when they take gay/lesbian character and ship them with the opposite gender,
there's a big difference between anti-gay and anti-yaoi,
anti-gay, you dont like them and dont think they deserve hetero right,
anti-yaoi, you dislike to see a hetero character with another character of the same gender because they are not gay/lesbian. same if they are gay/lesbian and ship them with a boy/girl.
Oh god, thank you for this stamp! I dislike yaoi/yuri(but respect the people who like it) and I'm cool with real life gays. I even have a few friends on here who are gay and they hate how most fangirls/fanboys portray gays in yaoi/yuri.
What pisses me off the most about yaoi/yuri is that most fangirls/fanboys pair PERFECTLY STRAIGHT CHARACTERS together who are best friends, rivals, arch enemies, allies, siblings, etc. and make them gay. They also portray gay relationships so inaccurately it's cringeworthy. It's mostly this seem/uke crap where you have this young, cute sissy boy/slutty girl who enjoys getting raped by an older, overly dominant seme. If this is how they see gay relationships or what they think it SHOULD be in real life, then they need to hang out with real life gays. They're like heterosexual people but are into the same sex.
So, yes, I agree. Disliking yaoi/yuri doesn't mean you're homophobic. It means you dislike the stereotypes most yaoi/yuri fans like to make about gays.
Yaoi/yuri fans are incredibly creepy with their perverted ships. Honestly, how can Ash Ketchum and James from Team Rocket be a couple? Why would Spongebob and Squidward have kiss each other? Why would the Beatles have a foursome?! Oh humanity, what has happened to you...
I know right? Last I checked, Ash Ketchum and James hate each other's guts. And Squidward hates Spongebob's guts. Why would they love each other? There's no kind of evidence saying they do. Oh god, the Beatles too? Seriously?! Blindly shipping fictional characters is one thing, but real-life people? What HAS happened to humanity, I don't even...
I couldn't agree more - I support gay rights, have gay friends, teachers and family members as well as having played a gay character in my acting career but I can't stand yaoi or the way it has taken over the internet. I especially dislike how you have to be so careful what you say otherwise you will be accused of being anti gay when as far as I can see yaoi is a weird craze of fetishising gay men for straight girls - nothing about gay rights at all! It doesn't make sense to me but the worse thing is how it destroys the characters it uses. This is only my opinion of course but Im glad others share it - keep up the good work.
I'm not trying to start ANYTHING. But. The term "yaoi" in general has nothing to do with anime. Yaoi is just referred to as fictional sexual relationships of two males. Most yaoi is realistic. It's just so underestimated. It's the infamous yaoi, which is moe and cute, that is notorious for being disgusting and sick (I think some of you know of which anime I mean in particular.).
Actually he never said that it had to do with anime. I don't get why you're explaining this here cause"Kawaii desu" is Japanese and so is "Yaoi". He never said it had to do with anime.
Yaoi began in doijinshi (fan fiction) during the 70s when shounen ai became popular and has always been a parody to this genre of fiction and media. There for while it's true has nothing to do with anime, it's starting point was to be a parody to manga style fictions back in those times and there for is the reason why anime and manga come to mind when thinking about yaoi and yuri.
Yaoi literally means gay porn, i don't have anything against gayness either but porn is just disgusting..... I don't know why people even drool over that stuff!!!!! I'm suprise there are people who are against it like so...
Oh my god THANK YOU! I hate non-canon yaoi but I am not a homophobe! I support LGBT (I am not gay, just so ya know ) but I just don't like yaoi/yuri pairings unless the creators of the canon made it that way!
I like fluffy pairings, angsty pairings, and friendship pairings. All I see in real life is "ur HOT letz makeOUIT!!@111" so 'yaoi' and 'yuri' are really the only ways I can get what I want Cool stamp though! I just hate it when people hate yaoi/yuri BECAUSE it's gay.
THANK YOU. Yaoi and Yuri (usually) do not show realistic relationships, and dynamics between two people in a romantic, and loving relationship. Girls don't turn into lesbians just because some girl touches her boobs, and a guy doesn't turn gay because a hot guy rapes him. IT'S NOT REALISTIC, AND TO ME IS WRONG. This doesn't me I'm homophobic, and hate gays (I actually support gays).
THAT'S WHAT IM SAYING! Yaoi and Yuri mainly refers to anime/ manga, I think that if you choose to be homosexual, then you are a person who has the courage to say it. So yes, I am NOT a homophobic, I am an anti yaoi and anti yuri!!
I like some same-sex pairings in my fandoms. I'm also a gay man. However, I hate the objectification, sexualisation, stereotypes and downright creepiness of the "yaoi" genre, or how they portray same-sex couples. Like we don't have to deal with enough of that already.
I HATE Yaoi (when it's non-canon)! The most annoying part is that it turns up JUST BECAUSE I HATE IT. In literally EVERY Death Note L group, I've seen LxLight Yaoi. NO!! NOOOO!!! Annoying Yaoi fangirls...
Ugh, I got so much of this crap before I actually started liking yaoi. I WAS seen as a homophobe because I didn't want people constantly trying to shove yaoi down my throat. I had a few people have the nerve to ask me "WHAT, YOU THINK THAT LOVE BETWEEN TWO GUYS ISN'T REAL LOVE?! YOU THINK GAYS ARE GROSS??"
....No. Just...fucking no. I've ALWAYS supported gays. I've never seen anything wrong with the fact that there do happen to be people that love others of the same gender, and this was when I was twelve and severely sheltered. I disliked yaoi because I didn't want to see every single PAINFULLY STRAIGHT male character out there getting paired with their best friends/archenemies/fathers/brothers. I got tired of fangirls screaming and drooling over two guys getting beaten, raped and humiliated....BY THEIR PAINFULLY STRAIGHT BEST FRIENDS OR ENEMIES OR FATHERS/BROTHERS.
As I got older, I discovered that there was yaoi that I actually quite liked. But even though I do like yaoi now, I'm still very, very picky about it. I'm still picky about pairings and there are a few fandoms where I'm just plain not okay with ANY pairings. I'm only okay with the "seme/uke" bullshit mentality if it's all CONSENSUAL, and only if it's not so severely moe-moe-kawaii-ified that it could make an asexual puke rainbows. I'm also not into S&M.
I have a gay friend that HATES yaoi because of how extremely inaccurately it portrays gay sex. :T
I have a gay friend of mine who was utterly DISGUSTED with how some fanbrats described the way they think gay guys SHOULD act. When he was talking to me at first, I didn't get it, mainly because I couldn't understand exactly how the girls were describing it in the first place but then he gave me the short story;
Let me put it like this; if they knew I was gay, they would want me to act like their god-damn circus monkey. They would want me to perform for them because they think its cute and it ENTERTAINS them. They don't give a shit about how I really feel. They only want me to put on a fucking show for them and if they knew about my boyfriend, they'd probably want to see either of us abusing each other since the entire seme/uke then is ADORABLE to them. Its not about people accepting gay couples; its just like those shitty anime pictures you hate with the bad titties? Its just about people creating images of other people and making them to their liking while exploiting someone else.
Granted, this was the most pissed I had EVER seen him. EVER.
You can dislike gays and you can dislike yaoi. But you canīt HATE it. Thatīs a difference. You can just say "I dislike gays because I donīt like to look at them" or "I HATE THEM" Itīs okay to dislike something because we`re all different but saying "I hate..." is offending and intolerant. People who like it shouldnīt feel bad about it Canīt stand haters. Theyīre stupid... But why all these hater groups???
i hate fandom yaoi. the kind that doesn't make any sense, like my fandom involves the starfox fandom, yet i never want to see a WolfxFox ever because it destroys the image we all know and love. i don't dislike it, i absolutely hate it, like beyond words of hate.
however if the yaoi pairing involves two characters that are obviously gay, then let them be gay and the fandom can continue. that kind of fandom i dislike but i can deal with.
Okay but there will be always yaoi with not obviously gay characters. Just as there is yuri with non-lesbian characters. I think you overstate this It doesnīt kills anyone and it wonīt change the series. Fandom barely makes sense at all.
